Drawing pin with crack content box

In this Photoshop tutorial you will see how to make a drawing pin, (one of those you hang up paper on boards with), and how to easily appy it to a content box. If you don't know what I mean take a look at the tutorial.

We will start by making a content box, I just made a simple one, not the most pretty one, but start by drawing a rectangle as shown below.

web content box tutorial

In the layers panel double click the layer containing the content box we just made and in the layers styles panel give it settings as shown below.

Now make a new layer, here we will make our pin head, so make an elliptical selection as shown below.

Now make a custom gradient like this. and draw it inside our selection so you go a 3 dimentional pin head.

Make a new layer beneath our pin head, this will be the pin neadle, so with the pen tool make a triangle as shown below as the neadle in the layers panel go to the layers styles panel and give it a gradient as shown below.

Now place your pin on top of the content box, and the last thing we need is to make the crack so it looks like our box is cracking where the neadle is put in.

So make a new layer between our neadle and the content box and call it crack, then with the brush tool at size 1 px, black color, draw some black around the neadle spike as shown below.

Now draw a few lines our from the black as shown below, don't exaggerate it.

And you are done, zoom out and look at your content box.

(ps I just made a better content box for my final image, just thought it might look better).
