Britney spears twisted glowing dots
In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial we will take an image of Britney Spears and make a cool halftone effect and apply a twirl to it to make an interesting and funny image.
First load in the image we want to apply this effect to.
Now locate the panel called channels (by default its docked next to the layers panel) click on the small icon to create a new channel as shown below.
Make a gradient going from a gray to white and back to gray as shown below, and drag it across the stage in the new channel layer.
Go to filter -> pixelate -> color halftone and set it as below.
Now hold down ctrl and click the new channel layer to load the selection.
You can now delete the new channel again, we dont need it anymore.
Go back to the layers panel, create a new layer on top of the britney spears layer, hold down ctrl + shift and hit i to invert the selection.
Now fill the selection with a white color to make the effect shown below.
Now make sure to have the halftone layer selected, then go to filter -> distort -> twirl and give it settings as shown below.
The final thing is to double click the halftone layer to get to the layers styles panel and give it an outer glow as shown below.
