Metallic badge with photoshop
In this adobe photoshop tutorial I actually just started playing with some shapes and made up this tutorial, you may use it for what ever, I could see it as part of a logo, badge or web graphic.
Start by using the elliptical shape tool and drag a ellipse on the stage, then go to edit -> transform -> wrap and go to the top panel and set it to "shell lower" as shown below
Make a copy of the shapes layer, select the top one, hold down ctrl and press T to use the free transform tool.
Hold down alt and start to drag form one corner to scale the shape a bit down as shown below.
Now double click the bottom shape layer to get to the layers styles panel and give it these settings.
Then hit ok and double click the top shape layer and in the styles panel give it settings as shown below.
And the basics are finished, you can now put in whatever shape or text you want.
I just used one of the photoshop standard custom shapes and gave it a gradient and drop shadow.
