Photoshop text tiles effect

In this Adobe Photoshop tutorial you will see how to make a simple pixel text effect.

First type in the text you want this effect applied to, make the font as big as possible and bold.

In the layers panel right click the text layer and choose rasterize layer. Then make 2 copies of it and name one of them "backup" and the other two others "1" and "2"

Make the layer we named backup invisible by clicking the small eye icon in the layers panel. Now we are ready to do some filters work.

Select the layer called 1 and go to filter -> blur -> motion blur and blur it as shown below.

Select the layer we named 2 and give it a motion blur with these settings.

In the layers panel select the layers we called 1 and 2, right click and merge them together into one.

Go to filters -> pixelate -> mosaic and give it settings as shown below.

Now go to filter -> sharpen -> sharpen and repeat it a couple of times till you get the right effect.

Now hold down ctrl and click the invisible text layer to load the selection from the text, then select the layer with our pixelated effect and hit delete so we delete the inner part (from the selection).

You can now go to image -> adjustments -> color balance and change the colors of the text effect to give it a more interesting look as I did.
